The following table lists the differences between different versions of Chronos.

|
07/28/03
|
- Fixed exporting right and left turn lanes data to correct directions.
|
|
1.27.00.00
|
05/14/03
|
- Fixed editing and saving issue with FHWA studies with multiple intervals.
|
|
1.26.00.00
|
09/04/02
|
- Relocated printout of hour total to be before the hour, rather than after the hour.
- Fixed bug which caused hour total to show up at top of every new page.
- Corrected problem of totals running past the hour by one interval.

1.25.00.00
|
03/29/02

- Duplicate study checking:
- If studies downloaded from counter already are in the database, a dialog pops up allowing the user to filter out all duplicate studies.
- Duplicate studies downloaded from counter show up in the study list with a study ID of “[Duplicate]”.
- The process of saving a duplicate study to the master study list brings up a dialog notifying the user that it is a duplicate study, and what original study it is a duplicate of. It allows the user to continue saving or abort the save operation.
- Labeling of new study IDs now is based upon the highest study ID, and not on the lowest unclaimed study ID as it was previously.
- Block duplication issue with downloading studies has been fixed; this should take care of discrepancies with the number of intervals.
- CRC checking now is implemented to reject bad blocks. This greatly reduces the chances of data corruption in the download process.
- Option added to the configuration menu to disable bar graphing on printouts.

|
1.24.00.00
|
03/05/02
|
- User Interface of download improved (now reports transfer rate and number of downloaded studies.)
- XModem engine has been enhanced to account for more “real-world” contingencies (ENQ and NAK packets.) Is more stable than previous versions and downloads solidly on all previously problematic machines.
- 11 types of errors are now diagnosed and reported in an Error Log window, including:
- Could not find selected serial port.
- Selected port is in use by another application.
- I/O error while connecting to port
- Too many listeners at serial port
- Unsupported comm operation (while setting baud rate)
- I/O error while receiving data from serial port
- Thread interrupt during delay
- Counter is not responding
- Unexpected exception while writing to Titan
- Unrecognizable counter response
- Error while processing downloaded data
- When error occurs upon downloading, download process stops and returns application control to the user.
- Error Log window now also contains a “Data” tab, which displays the transaction between the counter and PC in a readable format (for troubleshooting purposes.)
- Errors and transaction details are now added to the end of the JavaCon document, where they reside in a clear and readable format.
- If corrupt data within a study causes a program fault during data processing, Chronos now skips over the corrupt study and processes the other studies. If any studies are correctly processed, it gives the user the option of importing the intact studies into the database.
- If any studies have been properly downloaded prior to any sort of error occurring, Chronos allows the user to import the intact studies into the database.
- Row order for exporting FHWA studies has been fixed.

|
1.23.00.00
|
02/25/02
|
- Downloading From Titan is fixed with older and newer titans. Fixed byte length issues
- Added Byte length option to preferences.
|
|
1.13.83.04
|
01/25/02
|
- Printing is no longer slow: moved printing to the java 2D API.
- Downloading from Titan is more stable: Fixed baud rate timing issue.
- Chronos Com port settings are now settable in general preferences and are saved when Com port options has been changed.
- Chronos issues with some machines is presumable fixed (should work with all windows machines)
- Merging now works properly (FHWA).
- AM/PM peak hours on reports: unlike the IDEAS software, Chronos calculates this correctly.
- Auto backup of database is now implemented to save a backup of 99 db and then overwrites the first.
- Added time to headers, movement description to ROW HEADERS.
- Added Graph report for FHWA & Intersection cross-section of traffic type.
- Fixed sorting of study list.
- Database opened now displays on study list title bar.
- Now defaults save and open dialogs to Chronos/Data directory.
- Directional labels are more clear for editing data.
- Now saves when changing data in data tables in studies.
- General Preferences menu option (directories, com ports, splash screen, user info) has been added.
- Added editable Counter Serial Number field.
- Printouts are now on one page.
- Added total column on printouts.
- Splash Screen has been updated.
- Splash Screen now loads without timing idiosyncrasies.

|
1.00.11.03
|
2/15/01
|
- Fixed the Chronos Export format to match ideas in the carriage returns at the end of each line. It now includes a “\r\n” not just a “\n”
- Fixed the date format in Chronos to include a two digit date no matter if the day is just one. Ex 2-9-01 = 02-09-01. Also added a seconds representation in the time stamp in the export format. Ex 07:00 = 07:00:00
- Made a DemoVersion class to address issues about deployment between the full version and the demo versions.

|
1.00.10.02
|
12/19/00
|
- Data length was not calculated correctly; in some real-world situations came out negative. Manifestation of this bug would prevent program from processing studies after they were downloaded from the Titan counter.
- Blocks of 256 bytes were occasionally miscalculated as having a size of zero. This could also prevent Chronos from processing studies after being downloaded from the Titan counter.
- Chronos now accounts for traffic data exceeding 256 vehicles per interval. The Titan utilized a second byte in an unconventional way when representing such data. Manifestations of this bug included incorrect number of intervals, incorrect data positioning, phantom peak intervals and incorrect data quantities when viewing study data.
- Calculation of the number of intervals in FHWA studies has been fixed. Problem existed where the number of intervals reported by Chronos exceeded the number of actual intervals by a factor of 15. This bug also affected interval times.
- Output to the JavaConsole file has been reformatted to supply all counter information in a format that can be programmatically parsed. This eliminates the need for customers sending us counters in the future should any more problems arise.

|
1.00
|
11/30/00
|
- Four interval study with no data no longer causes crash when downloading data from the Titan counter.
- Data compression in Titan counter (for intervals containing no data) is now accounted for.
- Duplicate Study Ids corrected in Study Window from Counter. Studies are now given letter names for Study Ids in the Counter Study Window; when added to the main study window, they are assigned proper Study IDs
- Speed with FHWA studies greatly improved. FHWA studies can now be viewed more quickly (up to 10x speed improvement.)
- Column header on FHWA table changed so that row dividers are in sync with main row dividers. No offset problems on display.
