TT-2, 4, 6, and 8 F.A.Q.

My counter will not come on when I swipe the magnet across the faceplate, Is there anything that I can do to get it to come back on?

My TT-2, 4, 6, or 8 is displaying 65535 as the count for each interval, and I know that there were not that many cars in the interval, what can I do to fix this?

I accidentally swiped the magnet across the red dot on the side of the counter while viewing the data, and now it is gone, is there any way that I can get my data back?

My counter is only counting every other tire that hits it, why?

My TT-4 counter stopped collecting after the first interval, why?

Q. My counter will not come on when I swipe the magnet across the faceplate, Is there anything that I can do to get it to come back on?

A. There are only a couple of things that can be done to fix this problem. One is to replace the battery, if the counter is approximately four or more years old the battery may have gone dead, to do this please contact us to find out the procedures for replacing the battery. The only other thing that can cause your counter to not come on is an electronic hardware failure, in this case you will need to contacts us to have the counter sent in to us for repairs.

Q. I accidentally swiped the magnet across the red dot on the side of the counter while viewing the data, and now it is gone, is there any way that I can get my data back?

A. Unfortunately there is no way to retrieve the data, because if the display of the counter is on, you will erase all of the data on the counter if you swipe a magnet across the red dot on the side of the counter. Be sure not to swipe the magnet near the sides of the counter until you are sure that you want to erase all of the data in it.

Q. My counter is only counting every other tire that hits it, why?

A. The TT 2, 4 and 6 series counters are designed to divide by two, so as not to get two counts for one vehicle. This will make a five axle vehicle show up as two and a half counts though.

Q. My TT-4 counter stopped collecting after the first interval, why?

A. The TT-4 unit was designed to collect only 1 interval of data, of you are looking to collect more than one interval, you will need to use a TT-6 to do so. The use of having only one interval is so that you can collect only a specific time of data, so that if you cannot pick up the counter for two or three weeks you will not have that data on the counter also.
